About the Composer/Educator/Cosplayer
Hello!
To explain a bit about myself for anyone who is curious; I am an avid gamer, who played lots of video games while growing up. I am still an avid gamer to this day.
I have always had a love of music, from a young age I always wanted to play music. I've been actively playing and practicing cello from 4th grade, it was the instrument that introduced me to the world of music. When I went to high school I also studied violin and took up keyboards in a prog rock garage band. This opened up a whole world of composing music, that I still enjoy doing immensely to this day. High school also gave me a chance to practice the arts I very much enjoyed, when with a handful of friends I created an independent musical called 'Pants.' Through this process I found a great deal of satisfaction and enjoyment.
After high school I attended UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.) I continued to work on improving musical abilities for two years, until switching to an education major. After graduating, I was asked to compose music for an independent game and remembered all the joy of composition again. I am currently working as a freelance composer but still preform when the opportunity arises.
I've never been the type of person who wants to fall easily into a set 'box' and have always preferred embracing many aspects of life in my quest for knowledge. To fulfill that need I continue to work as a professional educator focusing on at home enrichment tutoring and study the impact of technology on education. When I am not composing music or enriching the minds of my students I am an avid fan of cosplay. Some days I am lucky enough to mix all three of these loves into my work.
If you are looking for a composer, would like a copy of any of my music, are looking for a tutor or speaker for your next professional development day, or just want to talk cosplay, please feel free to contact me. I try to keep myself as approachable and easy to contact as possible!
