I'm happy to announce that I will be at Anime Midwest this coming weekend to present my Video Games and Literacy panel. It will be at 10AM on Sunday so make sure you check out of your hotel rooms early if you're going to make it! I hope to see lots of new and familiar faces. If you went to my con-alt-delete panel it covers the same topics but I've added new things and gotten rid of other things to keep it relevant for people. My goal is always to make my presentation new and different as well as provide people a forum to share ideas and thoughts about education.

Another quick blurb on Reading Rainbow today. I was asked by my longtime childhood companion LeVar Burton to show my support for Reading Rainbow today. So here it is! We will be back to our regular schedule in the next few days. I have been working on catching up on a lot of composing that did not get finished when I was teaching full time. In addition, I will be presenting at Anime Midwest this summer and have been spending the rest of my nonexistent free time updating and revising my "My Teacher Just told me Video Games Would Teach me to Read" panel. If you are going to be at Anime Midwest on Sunday stop by and see me at 10AM!
Today I'm encouraging everyone to follow along and help LeVar Burton bring his Reading Rainbow app to classrooms! Even with its subscription fee I think the app is a fantastic deal. I was proud to do my part to help encourage our children to develop a love of reading.
